The Orange and Blue Observer (OBO), a conservative political journal at the University of Illinois, staged a controversial raffle on April 14, 2005. The prize was one of three 9mm handguns. To enter the raffle, participants paid $5 and there were plenty of protesters available to make their thoughts known. A couple of weeks earlier, the OBO had raffled off an AK-47-like rifle, and about 15 protesters showed up for that. For this one, the protesters were slightly more organized. I would estimate that about 30 were there.
