From album Homemade (DIY) Infocus 4805 Projector Mount

A user that had looked at these pictures decided to make his own copy of the projector mount and this is what he came up with. If you have used this idea to make a projector mount, please let me know and I'll add your picture to the collection!

I did the same thing however I built a box to go around it.....that way you cant see the proj or the crappiness of the mount (no offence....good idea)

I am an electronic tech. So Tim, you should leave it open to allow proper cooling of the unit. A box around it is not a good idea.

By far the easiest DIY mount i've seen.
Can't cleary see it, but i'd recommend using wing nuts at the other side of the plate mounted on your projector, otherwise it might vibrate a lot when people walk/jump around in the room above. And projectors dont like the slightest amount of vibration.

Very simple. Very efficient. Well done.

Not sure how you are ventilating the heat through the plate that the projector is mounted to.

Looks like heat is vented by the projector thru the front panel so the plate it is mounted to should have no adverse effect.

I like this mount but I plan to use only 3 bolts. 2 up front and 1 in the rear. The 2 front bolts can adjust the level from side to side and up/down. The rear bolt will be in the middle rear of the projector and only needs to adjust up/down.

There is a piece of plywood that is directly attached to the projector. I had some trouble finding the right size screw that fits in the projector mount screwholes. I ended up with size 7 screws (according to one measuring scheme.. 4mm if you use an alternate measuring scheme). Figuring out where the screws are at and transferring that location to the board (I used 1/2 inch plywood, because I had it handy) is a bit tricky. I took a sheet of notebook paper, marked the edges, and then poked holes where the screwholes were on the projector. I was then able to sit the piece of paper on the piece of plywood and transfer the location. Then, I drilled larger holes that the downward facing bolts would pass through.

according to the InFocus website, my SP5000 has holes for M4-0.7-16mm screws. I bought them at ACE for 60 cents each.

My guess is that all InFocus have the same.

I suspect you are correct. Thanks for the note.

Same size for LP755. Thanks for the idea.

For the bolts pointed downward, I put them through the ceiling board, attached a washer and nut, and then used a washer and a butterfly nut on the bottom. By drilling out the hole larger you can gain a bit of adjustability in swinging the projector around.

The third, and probably final, pair of New Balance shoes that I've owned. Not very old. See >>my writeup by clicking here<<.

I bought these shoes yesterday. They are really nice, and of good quality. Perhaps it won't be your final New Balance after wearing these :)

I've recently been wearing Asic 2100 (and, more recently, 2110) running shoes. Good stuff so far.

Top of the 3rd from Game four of the 2005 World Series. You can see on this picture that the screen is wider than what I am projecting. I used a 4 foot by 8 foot board, and I'm projecting approximately 7 foot by 4 foot. No comments necessary on the lighting job. See if you can find President Bush (senior) and Barbara Bush in the crowd.
